The Start of Something

THE BEGINNING

Today we start something special. We start a campaign that aims to bring back the lost youth of Australia to engage in political debate. Over the years, our ability to engage has increased dramatically and the technological age we find ourselves in allows us to connect with politics like never before - yet the figures show that 47% of people between 17 and 25 believe that no party represents them. Now more than ever, Australian Youth need to find an interest in politics and have their say in policy decisions that will impact them in the future. The Young & Political campaign aims to build and render the bridges between young people and politics.

We know this isn't going to be easy - so we need your help. We need your time, we need your voice no matter how big or small it may be, and as much as I regret saying it, we need financial assistance to help our voice get heard.

We at the Young & Political campaign are not politically aligned, nor do we represent any major company. We represent the people, and most notably, the young people of Australia. In every state, in every town, in every suburb, there are people whose voices we want to hear and who we believe have something to contribute when it comes to the future of this great country.

To the Young and already Political - I say a deep thankyou for your commitment to seeing the best outcome for this country. No matter who you support, what political party you belong to or what you campaign for; your voice is important and you expressing it epitomises what democracy is all about.
